Cliveden

About the venue

Cliveden is a place of astonishing grandeur.

Set in 376 acres of spectacular grounds overlooking the Thames, the House has been home to three Dukes, an Earl, the Astors and a Prince of Wales, each of whom have left their mark on the unique setting. Warm hospitality and entertaining with style have been integral to Cliveden for centuries. Just twenty minutes' drive from Heathrow and forty minutes from London and Oxford, and boasting a fleet of private luxury cars, including a Rolls-Royce Phantom and helicopters, Cliveden is accessible to both the international and city markets. Yet once you are here, the peace and tranquility make it the ideal retreat for business or pleasure. Professionalism, unbeatable service and attention to detail are the hallmarks of Cliveden as a meeting venue. The Churchill and Macmillan boardrooms are both air-conditioned and equally comfortable. The Macmillan is distinguished by its grand Oak panelling, echoing a style used elsewhere in the Garden Wing and the Churchill has a private terrace for entertaining. The Rococo 18th Century French Dining Room is a stunning setting for private dining and entertaining, as well as celebrations and is licensed for weddings. House guests and non-residents have the choice of two award-winning restaurants: The Terrace Dining Room, with its views down the 19th century Parterre, offering Modern Classic cuisine with a Mediterranean twist, making it the perfect place to entertain for lunch or dinner. And Waldo's, with its intimate ambience offers dishes of real gastronomic flair. The Pavilion Spa set in a walled garden is a haven of calm and along with the private flotilla of Edwardian boats, ensure that Cliveden is the perfect location for mixing business with pleasure. Cliveden is part of the von Essen collection of country house hotels.
