    Taking a Brutalist building in King's Cross and turning it into a £20 million five star boutique hotel with 270 bedrooms, the Standard London is the first hotel from the well known boutique chain outside America. The former council office block, originally built in the 1970s as an annexe to Camden Town Hall, sits directly opposite St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. The whole building is being upgraded but the biggest change is to the top floors. Clad in metal and glass, the two top levels are transformed into an architectural feature and include hotel rooms and suites, public and private event spaces, dining area, lounge and observatory with public access. An external lift whisks guests from the ground up to the 8th floor.

    Located in the Heart of London’s Contemporary Art District, the Arts Factory is a new artistic and innovative multi-site venue based along the Regents Canal. Founded by creative radical Thomas Ermacora, the main space has a standing capacity of 400 standing, 200 banquets and 300 theatre style seating. In addition there are 7 ancillary spaces with capacities ranging from 20 – 80 people standing. In addition, there is also the Wharf Kitchen that serves as a canteen for The Arts Factory ‘cultural innovation hub’, and it’s a fashionably bare, rather rustic room with German ‘Biergarten’ tables brightened up by displays of fresh produce and vintage crockery. The Arts Factory is an ideal venue to host events, product launches, fashion shows, receptions, conferences, presentations, exhibitions and can be used as an art gallery space.     When we first heard about this building being available, we turned it down. Not for us, bit too 1980′s, bit vanilla, bit too far from Borough Market and London Bridge station. Love it when we’re wrong. Fortunately Neil, the agent who introduced it, did that whole stalking thing until we relented and headed down there, so we are very much in his debt. First up this building is much closer to the market and the station than you realise (London Bridge is Northern and Jubilee lines and main line), and almost opposite Borough Station (Northern). And secondly, when we were on site, we removed some of the ceiling tiles and saw amazing ceiling heights and a coffered concrete ceiling throughout. That was that then. A beautiful ceiling showed us the potential (well done Sam for actually looking although he is the tallest in the office so kind of expected). We’re on site now, punching holes to open up the ground and first floors and adding another floor on top. A mix of individual offices, meeting rooms and shared working spaces under our co-working spaces co-working offer. We’re back on track with our sustainability hat on, so we have a number of Green Roof gardens, Rainwater harvesting, low energy lighting, PV and solar panels, lots of bike storage (secure) and showers, drying room etc. A great meeting needs a great meeting room. The rooms are tailored to specific types of meeting both in design and technology and are available by the hour or the day. 10 meeting rooms & possibly more with partitioned walls All the AV equipment is available and included in the cost Great breakout space outside the meeting room area
